happy new year...create your best year...yet...

it's a new year.

this fact alone, i find extremely exciting. it is like a new outfit, new pretty underwear (a personal favorite:-), a new car, new home, new love...

...each new year i tend to spend a great deal of time reflecting.

what did i learn last year?

what did i hold to be the gospel truth before time/wisdom/experience wrenched it away?

who have i allowed in my life that truly has no place moving forward, if my movement is to be powerful?

aaahhh...introspection, reflection, meditation.

frankly, sometimes i find it more pleasant than other times!

here's the thing. i have a post that has been banging around in me for awhile now. each time i sit down to write it, i feel blocked. it is as if writing it makes it real. sometimes, it is very difficult to get real i find.

everything i have ever written, i have believed with every fiber of my being. my paradigm shift born of new year reflections, introspection, and mediation is causing great discomfort.

i have strengthened my resolve to pull it in, reach a place of acceptance, say what needs to be said, and most importantly DO what needs to be done.

all in the interest of creating my best year yet and...

Food for thought indeed!

Happy New Year, sis! I am so excited to see a new post on your blog. I encourage you to say what needs to be said, whatever it is. It is hard to let go of old beliefs even if they have proven to be useless. I've been experiencing growing pains for the last year. I still don't think that I'm comfortable with some of the things that I've found to be true in the last year, especially with regard to black men. But I digress... Looking forward to the informative and meaningful discussions that I have come to expect from this blog. Stop by my blog and see the new design.

Peace and solidarity,

LorMarie, it blesses me to know that in visiting you leave with food for thought:-) may your thoughts manifest positively/productively consistently in your words and deeds daily.

Tasha, after many growing pains, i have come to see differently quite a few things about black PEOPLE.

Welcome back Focusedpurpose. I have missed you. For me, I have decided to take a page out of your book regarding receciprocity; I had my can handed to me twice in the past year for extending support and encouragement to two people who did not appreciate it, but who then turned around and did things to hurt me. And they did it intentionally. My days of doing stuff like that are over. I posted about this on my blog. Anyway, I look forward to reading your next post.
