with all that is being said in the news about Michael Jackson, it has caused me to reflect.
i have a friend that admonishes me to stick with the micro. it has been my position and continues to be that the micro and the macro are connected and very much related. life seems to me, to be a collage of sorts. every little seemingly unrelated detail serves its intricate purpose in the bigger picture.
in truth, prior to his death, i had long ceased to give any thought to Michael Jackson. in fact, i found him to be an embarressment. his appearance was grotesque. i found it very difficult to look at him. this, despite, thinking him very handsome back when he still had the features and hue of a black man.
his obsession with whiteness bothered me more than i liked his music. his marriages struck me as typical. his wanting children that possessed nothing of him...well...that was extreme and further served as proof of his obsession with whiteness. it wasn't really typical though. i would describe it as bizarrely sick and truly self-hating. (i don't think that non bw that hate bw are necessarily "self-hating", but that's a whole other post.)
somewhere i read that Michael only wanted to do ten shows for his" this is it" tour. that he felt pressured to do the tours because his advisors warned him that he was insolvent. that he even shared with fans his anger by the fifty shows that were expected of him, shortly before he died. as i read, all i could think was, "dance negro! dance!".
which brings me to my favorite Michael Jackson song.
"they don't really care about us"
unfortunately, i cannot find the original lyrics. i remember them though. i remember this song and the controversy that surrounded it. you know, it is funny, i can remember certain times and events that i knew as i witnessed them that the person(s) involved would shortly be having a very different experience. lol! like when Arsenio Hall sat there talking to Minister Farrakhan on his show, nodding in agreement (gasp) and when Michael Jackson sang about "jew me, screw me" and "jew me, sue me". if you listen closely, it seems that this version still holds some of the original lyrics where MJ sings about "kick me, kike me". i take it he was VERY angry with a few jews during this time.
i remember his apology, his re-writing the lyrics, and re-shooting the video. not too long after that i remember the child molestation accusations first beginning to surface. it does not pay to offend the jews. this fact may explain why no prominent powerful one speaks against the terrorism and human rights violations that israel perpetuates against the palestinians on the regular. anyhoo, back to Michael Jackson...
i feel tremendously sad for Michael Jackson's mother and family. i pray that Michael Jackson will now know peace.
on a different note, if lyrics can be changed despite artistic expression and freedom of speech when it offends the jews; it is difficult to pretend that the offense and disrespect heaped on black women, in the name of entertainment is anything other than deliberate and with the purpose of destroying us.
self love~self acceptance~self respect

Thank the most high u have come back with a vengence. I am feeling you. I think Mike had some serious issues. He "painted" himself white, but pays for Watts summer festival every year. He married white women and paid one hundred thousand dollars to the NOI to sponser The Million Man March. He adopted white children, lying saying he is the biological father and raising in a Black American cultural context. He buys the publishing catalogs of The Beatles, Elvis, Neil Diamond, the Jonas Brothers and Lady Gaga, finds Little Richard's catalog within the Beatles' and GIVES it to him when he could have charged him. I will not understand a person like MJ as many of his actions did not agree with his personal issues.
hi Ensayn-
thanks for your kind words. it feels good to write again. in fact, it feels better to write than to speak. writing makes me less tired. if folks want to hear they can read. if not, they don't have to...at least it is not inside of me, bugging me. lol!
MJ being charitable does not change in any way my views. when one really looks at it, wfolks have and will continue to reap the greatest benefit from his existence. the responsibility for this can only be placed at MJ's feet.
the fact that he wants bw to take care of his white children...ok...so what's REALLY new about that? historically, despite being deemed animals, we still were expected to put more energy and effort into caring for little wfolks than our own children. i can't get too excited as i put this into historical perspective. in fact, i find it insulting. how old is his mother and diana ross? they have raised their children. give these women a break already. when folks really start telling the truth, i think we will learn that MJ not only had a disdain for bw but for all women. he just could tolerate ww better as they would be necessary to produce the whiteness he so obviously craved. yep, i said it. lol!
according to the reports, MJ did not father his offspring, nor did he bother to adopt them either. the ww he paid $8million+ for the two oldest children will surprise me to NO END if she doesn't do what i fully expect her to do. time will tell. if/when she gets busy, folks will still be hard pressed to call her a gold digger. i am not mad at her and ww like her either. as long as quite a few white skin worshipping bm continue to make it a breeze for them to extract resources...why wouldn't they?
aside from the watts summer festival, which may have inadvertantly benefited bw, i still maintain that aside from domestic duties (nanny, nurse, etc.) MJ had no use for bw. as such, i tuned him out and really had no use for him either. as long as i don't have to look at him, i can still/will enjoy some of his music.
thanks for stopping in. it is always a pleasure to engage with you. i completely feel you and the man that you are. wish there was a way to clone you. lol!

Thank you FP, I have to say you shed light on his other actions. I was floored when he gave custody to Diana Ross, my immediate thought was similar to yours. Why would she want to be bothered with little children, elementary school and all the child rearing condiments. I left Michael Jackson and he was really not a thought on my mind. I realized just after Off the Wall I was not longer his target audience.
I am inclined to agree with you that in his death it may reveal a disdain for Black women.
He was really a very sick mixed up individual.
i should say for the record that i understand and realize that the link i posted is to a white supremacist site.
i should also say that i have learned alot by reading the views of those that i don't agree with.

update:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090706/ap_on_en_mu/us_michael_jackson
i said it before and the signs indicate that i am onto something.
when will bfolks learn? we are so busy pretending race doesn't matter. yet, ALL that we create and generate profits...OTHERS.
SMH in utter disgust.
at some point, we may consider that we are our worst enemies.
FP,
Sis, you're back!!! And, hopefully for good?!!! {happy dance and wild cheering} I've missed your incisive voice so much.
I lost interest in MJ when I realized that not only did he want to be White, but he wanted to be a White woman. I was too through at that point.
However, I always felt that all roads of madness in the Jackson siblings led back to Joe and the general evils of showbiz parents (usually greed coupled with a desire to live vicariously through one's children).
And I was appalled by the seeming lack of anybody who cared enough about him to stage multiple interventions. Most of all, an intervention about his admitted behaviors that fit the KNOWN profile of pedophiles (such as "grooming" intended victims with material bribes, seeking opportunities to be alone with them, not to mention the sleepovers with these children, etc. {shudder} ).
I was appalled when I learned that he basically paid some Whites to breed some White children for him. This is taking the madness to a level that I guess more Blacks would engage in if they could afford it. Ewww.
MJ is just one of many BM celebrities who COMPLETELY disconnected himself from BW. Across the board. And along all dimensions. And we accept this (which is just fine by me***I don't "feel" anybody who doesn't "feel" me or mine***). But when BW make the RECIPROCAL decision to disconnect from any and all BM who aren't doing anything for them, then it's a scandal and an outrage!
I say that it would be helpful for BW to cut all of these artificial, assumed, and CONTRIVED connections and start fresh. And start only identifying any purported connections based upon demonstrated RECIPROCITY.
I'm off to check out the link you posted.
Anyhoo, I'm just delighted to hear your voice again!
Peace, blessings and solidarity.
FP,
I am so happy to read a new post! I have really missed your voice. About MJ, I loved his music. Tremendously. I also was fascinated and incredibly saddened by his story, from his upbringing to his rise to stardom. I wrote a tribute to him on my blog. As Ensayn mentioned above, I did find some of his actions to contradict his seeming unending love affair with whiteness. I find it incredibly sad that in death his fortune will fall largely in the hands of whites. His children are white and will inherit the bulk of his estate. I also found it disturbing that he chose Dianna Ross to raise his children, because she is up in age. What made him think that she would want such a big responsibility at this stage in her life? But some would probably argue that his choosing Diana and his mom to be the guardians of his children means that he held them in high regard. I would've thought that he would've chosen his sister Janet because she's younger and they were always close.
I guess that I choose to remember him for the consumate entertainer that he was and not for the sad spectacle that his life had become. He was not a happy person. I hope he finds the peace in life that so eluded him in death.
Peace and solidarity,
Tasha
A very insightful post. I too basically ignored MJ at a certain point. I can't understand how the masses ignore the obvious emotional issues that plagued him.
KHADIJA!!!
hi sis! SO good to see you in my neck of the woods!
Khadija, i write to save my life. this blog and the blogosphere keep me sane. unfotunately time does not permit frequent posts as it did before. i realize that this is just a season though. i have a man-child that is getting ready to drop child from the title. soon. he, life, work, and progress keep me plenty occupied.
yes, it is obvious that MJ did not just want to be white, he wanted to be a ww. which is another reason i don't pretend he was a heterosexual man. it is just a matter of time before it all comes out in the wash as my grandma would say. and for the record, i couldn't care less about his sexual preference. i don't like for folks to play games of make believe and expect me to play along though.
yes, i think a great deal of the hatred of blackness that MJ suffered to a greater extreme than the rest of his family can be traced back to Joe.
ok...i must veer off here...WHY was Joe plugging a new record label RIGHT after his son died? that person is yucky beyond words. he, al sharpton, jesse jackson, and don king have a yuck factor that causes a dry heave sensation to occur for me. seriously. when they die, i won't feel compelled to pretend otherwise either.
now, going back to roads leading back...Katherine is going to have to get some of that responsibility as well as Michael's first teacher. there was NOTHING that prevented her from protecting her children and teaching them to love, accept and respect themselves. absolutely nothing. she came off most recently as disconnected and in search of the money as far as i am concerned. how would she not know there was a will? Joe's money hungry antics were simply preempted. lol!
Jermaine sounds like a lying fool now. i suppose we are all supposed to forget about "word to the badd" now that MJ has died, which we ALL will do someday. really? there is that game of make believe again. it annoys me.
furthermore, it appears that MJ was the type of mess that only wanted folks around him that engaged in fanny kissing and saying "yes" when "no" would have served him better. at the end of the day, we are responsible to save ourselves. he who hates discipline hates themselves. furthermore, WHO can save you when you are bent on self destruction? i don't think anyone can. even God saves those that save themselves.
you said:
"I was appalled when I learned that he basically paid some Whites to breed some White children for him. This is taking the madness to a level that I guess more Blacks would engage in if they could afford it. Ewww."
yes ma'am. men and women alike. let's tell the truth if we are going to tell it. quite a few black folks hate black.
yes! refusing to care one way or the other about bm that DEMONSTRATE they don't care one way or the other about bw is met with howls of treason! lol! i.don't.care. i was just having this convo over at Field Negro's house. i was too lazy to log in under my name, so i was anonymous. it seems another black fool has caught some charges behind a wg, post dated Friday,7/3/09. on cue, folks are expecting bw to get all worked up into a lather. this male has up to this point, chosen to surround himself with ww, other non bw (his girlfriend) and bm. i urged the bw on that post that on automatic pilot wanted to go to battle for this fool to stand down and still. THAT battle has NOTHING to do with us. let ww, non bw, and bm handle that. Genarlow Wilson anyone? anyone? folks got bent all out of shape. lol!
Alicia Banks, who i greatly admire, reminded us that these bm routinely only remember black when they are dying/dead or headed to jail. at this point, bw are at the "shame on us" portion of this song and dance. we have LONG since passed "shame on them"! (she broke down some real stuff on Emmitt Till also. i went in search of additional info and LET ME TELL YOU, we.have.been.had! bw had better wake up! fast! for real. for real.) shout out to La who was NOT playing either. lol!
Khadija, when you check out the link, i would be interested to know your thoughts. you have a way of taking my thoughts to the next level which i really appreciate.
thanks for stopping by sis and leaving a comment. i am at your house almost daily. your forum is not one for soundbites, so unless i have time to do it justice, i read and raise my fist in solidarity! keep holding it down.
blessings to you in abundance sis,

Tasha:-)
hi sis! you are so sweet. i guess we are different because i did NOT love his music. in fact, quite a bit of it got on my nerves. lol! that song, it doesn't matter if you are black or white. say what?!!!??? YES IT DOES! THIS is why you are headed to whiteness! man in the mirror. really now? rock my world...GIRL you know you did...huh?
lol! ok, you get my point. i suppose, i just flip between micro and macro too much to separate the two like that. what i can agree with is the sentiment that he will somehow secure peace in death that eluded him in life. although, if he can still see what's going on, i don't think so. raffling tickets to his memorial???!!! say what? does that seem sick to anyone else?
Tasha, thanks for stopping in. i was at your house the other day. the sista, the acid and the animal that threw it on her tormented me for the greater part of that day. i did not leave a comment as my mind had difficulty processing what i was reading and formulating my thoughts. i still can't truly express what i think and feel. suffice it to say, i pray that sister is able to move forward powerfully.
on Farrakhan, ever wonder why he doesn't take that fiyah he has/had for telling wfolks and direct it at his brothers and sons now? THEY need to hear it more than anyone else at this point. he seems to walk on eggshells AROUND the issues as quite a few bm take themselves, their women and children...OUT.
i am just saying...
thanks for visiting sis,
focusedpurpose
LorMarie-
WELCOME! it was at your house that i started to think about this. when i mention my favorite MJ song folks always ask me what album it is on? lol! i don't remember! what i do remember is that this song and the controversy is the last thing i remember before pedophile was attached to his name.
as i stated at your house, i don't know for sure if he was molesting those children. i DO know that he consistently REFUSED to shun the very appearance of evil.
thanks for your kind words and your visit. thanks also for getting the convo started.
blessings,
focusedpurpose
i gave props to AB and La. i would be remissed if i did not mention Grata. she has had me rolling with her unapologetic spot on stance. if you get a moment...
FP,
I tried the link, but it didn't work. I also went over to The Field Negro's blog. It's good that he didn't go on some extended song and dance about "Let's weep for the cheating husband/football player who died like a dog with his mistress".
You said, "Alicia Banks, who i greatly admire, reminded us that these bm routinely only remember black when they are dying/dead or headed to jail. at this point, bw are at the "shame on us" portion of this song and dance. we have LONG since passed "shame on them"! (she broke down some real stuff on Emmitt Till also. i went in search of additional info and LET ME TELL YOU, we.have.been.had! bw had better wake up! fast! for real. for real.)"-
Yes, you, Alicia Banks and others had some very incisive comments about several topics! LOL! I stopped by Alicia Banks' blog house and one of her posts mentioned that Janet Hubert (who had been on The Fresh Prince show) had an autobiography out. Apparently, Will Smith was a toxic child to work for in terms of the adult actors; and went out of his way to destroy her career. Not surprisingly, no Black Hollywood person came to her aid. I might read her book.
Like you said, SHAME ON US as BW if we choose to continue falling for the okey-doke!
And Emmett Till, ooh noooo! You mean yet another Black male sacred cow has been found out?! Noooooo! /sarcasm mode off/
Anyhoo, you're absolutely right about Katherine Jackson. She's a co-conspirator in the destruction of the Jackson children.
Peace, blessings and solidarity.
Khadija-
hi there. i am not a techie. i apologize for the inoperable link. if you head over to:
http://lormarie.com/2009/06/27/you-people-need-to-stop-obsessing-over-michael-jackson/
you will find the orginal link there. the other link is the proof that wfolks will end up with MJ's money. i saw that coming. i can't remember where i picked it up otherwise i would re-post. at some point, bm would do well to take note that ww are often used as agents. sent to distract and extract information and resources. i.don't.blame.them. why wouldn't they? it is too easy. like taking candy from a baby. lol! how long was mcnair seeing the 20 yr old? how long was that gap tooth ball chaser strahan married to the ww that ended up with MORE than half of his stuff? lol! this craziness cracks me up at this point. it is a bad joke. bw are gold diggers DESPITE being with disrespectful fools for LONG periods of time and are EXPECTED to walk away empty-handed in order to prove it was "love".
Janet Hubert was thrown off that show for suggesting that WSmith's character not be a clown. i remember, because when she left, i stopped watching. i am grateful that i have always looked for my image and don't compromise when it is erased. she is a conscious sista. she was replaced by Tim Reid's wife, who just so happened to be lighter complexioned. after Hubert's departure the only one of richer complexion was the butler. but now if i mention it as a chocolate sister, according to the rules that don't work in my best interest therefore don't apply to me, i am bitter, evil, jealous, etc. lol! seriously, it cracks me up at this point as i call it out.
you are right, no one in bhollywood came to her aid. quite frankly, Hubert had a better shot of being hired by whollywood. you and i both know she is too dark for bhollywood. come on now. it is for this reason i avoided like the plague hbcus. bfolks will freeze out richer deeper skin and pretend that it is all coincidence and that folks are trippin' when they mention it.
FN's po bm post was nipped in the bud and rightfully so. folks weren't having that BEFORE he posted his bit on the deaths. bw started the convo in an unrelated post. he declared us a "rough crowd". i will take it! peddle that non sense elsewhere. it is time out for bw buying it.
ETill, ah yes. going forward i will be denting that cow and speaking to the indomitable (sp:-) spirit of his mother.
that picture resonates completely different for me now.
look...see...some bm will risk THIS for the glorious ww...
lunacy.
get some if you feel so inclined. when it comes time to protest, i, for one will be busy. thanks.
create a beautiful day Khadija. that's my plan.

Welcome back Focusedpurpose!!! I loved the music and miss the Michael Jackson pre-surgeries, skin bleaching, and circus life. That boy died a long time ago.
Stealthkitty
FP,
Thanks for providing info to get to the link. Well, it was...bracing, to say the least! LOL! My thoughts:
Even a stopped clock is factually correct twice a day. I believe there were huge chunks of truth in that individual's analysis of the situation.
First of all, Jewish people DO have a hugely disproportionate, controlling presence in the entertainment industry. It's okay for them to brag about this for themselves---for an example, see the book An Empire of Their Own: How The Jews Invented Hollywood, by Neil Gabler. But if a non-Jewish person says anything about this disproportionate presence and control, they hound that person out of their livelihood.
Second, I believe the commenter was correct about how various parties used MJ's proclivities for little boys as: (1) a money-making, litigation industry; and (2) a means of leverage and control over his actions.
I've seen several situations where as soon as a BM has outlived his original use to the powers that be (PTB), or overstepped the place assigned to him by the PTB, then his extreme flaws are "suddenly" discovered.
There was the case of former Rep. Mel Reynolds in Chicago. This crossover Negro politician was used by the PTB to unseat Gus Savage. The Jewish community in particular and Whites in general from AROUND THE COUNTRY contributed to Mel Reynolds' campaign. You see, Gus Savage refused to bite his tongue regarding the Jewish community, or Whites in general.
After Mel Reynolds accomplished the task that his masters set for him, it was "discovered" that he was a pedophile. And then he was indicted, tried, convicted, and sent to prison. I believe the PTB knew all along that he was a pedophile; and preferred the sort of leverage over him this fact granted them. As opposed to dealing with somebody who doesn't have those sorts of liabilities.
As so I believe it was with MJ.
MJ stepped waaaay out of our collective assigned "place" when he bought the rights to the Beatles catalog. At that point, something really had to be done to wrest that catalog out of his hands, and get him back under control.-
As you know, Black entertainers' resources are supposed to flow out to Whites, NOT the other way around. And certainly NOT with White icons such as the Beatles. I'm certain that the Hollywood PTB found this particular situation to be utterly INTOLERABLE.-
As to other topics:
So that's what Janet Hubert's firing was about. [Although I do remember noting at the time that she was replaced by a lighter-skinned actress. Which annoyed me. Similar to my annoyance to the insertion of the half-White looking oldest sister character of Sondra on The Cosby Show. This, in addition to the presence of Lisa Bonet. And I also noted how the very small children added to the cast over the years were getting lighter and lighter---such as the grand-toddlers and Raven Symone.]
I didn't pay close attention to her firing when it happened because I didn't watch that show. I didn't watch that show because I was offended by its bizarre caricature of Black folks with money. But now I have the urge to support her by buying her book. I think I'll check it out.
I hadn't thought about the angle you mentioned over at Lormarie's house. Yep, I agree with you that we've got about one more high-profile fatality to go until the perception becomes "Black doctor = Death."-
Peace, blessings and solidarity.
hi again Khadija!
welcome Stealthkitty!
i will come back when i can talk. i have work to do, i just wanted to acknowledge your visit.

RESPONSE:
It is always a pleasure to stop by your house.
I was definitely horrified by the story of the sista who was attacked with acid. I lost sleep for at least a week over it. I can't imagine the horror. How she must feel. And you know there were people on the street during the attack and NO ONE came forward to identify the attacker. The victim was blinded by the attack so of course she couldn't identify him. I hope that she finds peace of mind somehow.
As for Farrakhan, I believe that he is like alot of our leaders. Silent when he needs to be noisy. Timid when he needs to be forthright. And not in the right areas. As mush as I have always admired him, I do feel that he has failed in this area. I wonder if anyone has ever discussed this with him?
BTW, where did you find the info about Emmit Till? I would like to read it.
Stealthkitty-
i LOVE the pics of the adorable little black boy MJ. off the wall album MJ was still handsome. as his nose and melanin became less and less, it became nothing short of scary.
i pray he is at peace, in addition to his family being successful with their efforts to maintain at least some of the riches their hard work and many sacrifices provided.
thanks for stopping in.

hi-
i am working diligently. right now one must choose between research and proposal writing or blogging. responsibility mandates the former.
as time permits, i will come back and dialogue. thanks for your patience.

I don't mean to burst your bubble here, and I certainly don't mean to come across as being catty, but MJ actually suffered from universal vitiligo, a serious skin condition in which all or most of the victim's skin turns white. He hid this condition from the general public until his talk with Oprah because it was psychologically stressful and embarassing. MJ expressed pride for his African heritage, which is why, as the first commentator noted, there were many apparent contradictions with his lifestyle. I wonder, do you know of the song, Liberian Girl? MJ had love for all kinds of people. IDK, I sort of doubt whether or not we (black people) would have accepted the different sides of him, you know, people can't stand it when you're different, add the black factor to it and I think it's fair to say that black people would not have accepted him (and his work at different points of his career) because he was so out there, so different.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/They_Don%27t_Care_About_Us
The possibility that the lyrics to "They Don't Care About Us" preached antisemitism was first raised publicly by The New York Times on June 15, just days before the album's release. The publication highlighted the lyrics, "Jew me, sue me, everybody do me/ Kick me, kike me, don't you black or white me" and labeled them "slurs".[1] Jackson responded directly to the publication, stating:
The idea that these lyrics could be deemed objectionable is extremely hurtful to me, and misleading. The song in fact is about the pain of prejudice and hate and is a way to draw attention to social and political problems. I am the voice of the accused and the attacked. I am the voice of everyone. I am the skinhead, I am the Jew, I am the black man, I am the white man. I am not the one who was attacking. It is about the injustices to young people and how the system can wrongfully accuse them. I am angry and outraged that I could be so misinterpreted.[1]
hi Khadija-
i know it has been a minute. a sista's been busy.
Khadija you said:
"First of all, Jewish people DO have a hugely disproportionate, controlling presence in the entertainment industry. It's okay for them to brag about this for themselves---for an example, see the book An Empire of Their Own: How The Jews Invented Hollywood, by Neil Gabler. YES! i don't care Khadija. i still reserve the right to call it. it doesn't by any stretch of the imagination make me popular, it does allow me to feel free. in my opinion, black folks REFUSING to tell the truth is killing them. seriously. i choose life.
i am quite familiar with the book you reference as well. hollywood is a jewish creation. as that grouup moved towards white, they seemed to have felt compelled to indulge EVERY racist stereotype to the fullest. i think it a distractionary tactic. focus on the negroes, don't pay attention to what we are up to.
it is funny, i was having a convo with an older jewish guy. he was telling me the difference he notes having lived long enough to watch the world "change". he referenced the fifties, which were before my time. when he finished his spiel, i very politely and evenly inquired if jews had managed to become "white" during that decade. he became quiet. i lmbao internally and waited in silence for his response. lol! he acknowledged that outside of new york, perhaps, not so much. i love him. HE will tell the truth. lol!
in the quest for "whiteness" it seems looking down on "non white" folks is a part of the price of admission. i don't write passes for anyone. it is what it is.
yes, i agree with your assertion that it was no secret that MJ had a penchant for little boys. i think when he became too big for his britches this knowledge was fully exploited.
let me say this, less i come off holier than thou. it takes a mess to recognize a mess. i, too, am a human MESS. (that's for you Lisa. happy now?) my messiness does not prohibit me from acknowledging that IF you are in fact looking VERY guilty of crimes against humanity and are in fact innocent, that it MIGHT be a good idea to AVOID the appearance of evil. IF folks have accused you of molesting a child, AND you paid to make it go away, making yourself appear guiltier than ever, it MIGHT be a good idea to chill out with unsupervised exposure to children. it MIGHT be a bad idea to continue to "share your bed". IF you are nostalgic for your po (as in can't afford the "or") days, MAYBE you could call up your brothers and share a bed with THEM like the good 'ole days?
i am just saying...
Khadija-
did you notice that when MJ was having mad financial problems that he tried to sell back the beatles catalog and he was refused? yes, i think that REALLY ticked quite a few folks off.
i also still think that his unmitigated gall to call out the jews around him that he had "beef" with caused a LOT of his problems. that and his total refusal to exercise wisdom. while i am a mess, i do own what is mine to own. but then, i get a lot of practice as a bw. those requiring ME to own my mess become mealy mouth excuse makers when it is time to call others to own their mess(es).
LOL @ Sondra from Cosby show reference. that used to work my nerves too. but then it is UNACCEPTABLE to have black black folks without adequate representation of whiter looking black folks. kindda like bw on tv MUST have a white girlfriend that demands equal if not GREATER screen time. i call it the Jenna Von Oy factor...lol!
yes, one more high profile death involving a black doctor=official. i am paying attention.
blessings sis. thanks for your patience. i need to mozy over to your house and clarify a hastily made point...see, this is why i don't comment unless i have true time. lol! each comment begets more comments:-)

Tasha:-)
hi sis!
i love when you come by. you, Khadija, Ensayn, and others make me feel like it is a reunion of sorts. i get all nostalgic. lol!
i don't know if anyone bothers to tell Farrakhan that he has mellowed to the point of irrelevant. i guess folks feel like he has earned his mellow season. i don't know. i DO know that the glaring refusal to call the new school out makes me wish he would just...RETIRE. that way, i could still respect, love and honor him.
emmit till reading. honestly, i can't remember where i was when i started reading about his wallet shrine to the white skin he seemed to worship to the point of risking his life. maybe if you mozy over to Alicia Banks' house she can better point you in the direction. i was just reading on the fly.
i, too, pray that my sister finds peace. my soul felt wounded when i read her story. as i said, the refusal to tell the truth is killing folks. stop snitching...no! i will tell. i hope the animal that did that to her finds no peace until he repents.
blessings to you sis.

Tasha-
i point you in the direction of Alicia Banks because she is more the scholar than i. reading is just my love. in many ways, it is like Scripture. the words are buried in my heart, however, i will be hard pressed to quote chapter and verse to anyone. ever. lol!
if you can't find the information, i will undertake the project of finding it for you. we were having a convo over at the field negro's house and i just went from there...

hi and welcome bubble bursting Debbie-
lol! yes, you do come across as catty, i suppose you know this full well, hence the disclaimer. far be it from me not to call it.
despite your cattiness, which many women needlessly practice, your visit is welcomed. it will do you well to check your cattiness in my house, as i won't hesitate. cattiness is the calling card of insecure women. stand in boldness and cattiness is rendered unneccessary. your point is still validly YOUR point without the cattiness. we DON'T all have to say the SAME thing. if we did quite a few of us would be irrelevant.
you should know, there is no "bubble" to burst. i simply stated without apology my opinion(s) on Michael. unlike most, my opinions did not change, just because he died. i don't do fakery and games of make believe very well. this is as far as i can see a blessing.
now, i understand if your take is different. you are entitled to your different take. i won't try to "burst your bubble". i will just respectfully agree to disagree and keep it moving.
thanks for stopping in.
Anon from FN's house? is that you? lol!
ok. so you are quoting the media in respect to MJ. fine. was this not the SAME source for his being "wacko", a "pedophile" and all the other negatives that his worshippers are up in arms over after his death?
really...in truth...it is NOT that serious to me. i am content to let the dead bury the bury the dead. i simply refuse to pretend that things have changed JUST because someone dies. i know i know...one MUSTN'T speak ill of the dead. here's the thing, i did not make that rule, nor was i consulted when it was established. it doesn't really work for me, as it calls for a whole bunch of excuse making and fakery. i don't do ANY of that well. i.am.not.sorry.nor.seeking.to.change.
if you are FN's Anon, may i suggest you scurry back over there and pick fights with the women over there that will engage you? males that act like women make me tired. i am still being increased in patience. at the same time, i fully recognize my limitations. i will not indulge you further. thanks for stopping in. may you STILL have a peaceful journey.

FP,
You said, "i am quite familiar with the book you reference as well. hollywood is a jewish creation. as that grouup moved towards white, they seemed to have felt compelled to indulge EVERY racist stereotype to the fullest. i think it a distractionary tactic. focus on the negroes, don't pay attention to what we are up to."-
Yep. I believe many of the same motives were underlying their surface support of the civil rights movement--as you noted, to keep "real" White folks' attention on Black folks and NOT on what they were doing.
The other thing is that stepping on Black folks is part of the official Becoming Perceived As White Process. As we can see, other groups such as Latinos, Asians and Arabs, etc. are also involved in this.
You said, "LOL @ Sondra from Cosby show reference. that used to work my nerves too. but then it is UNACCEPTABLE to have black black folks without adequate representation of whiter looking black folks."-
Sis, I laughed out loud at this. I wonder how much representation is "adequate" representation of Whiter-looking Black folks. It seems to change based on the era and the context.
For many Black music artists' videos, the quota seems to be ALL Whiter-looking, if not actually White/Latina/Asian women.
I recall my Dad talking about how his firm's photographers would always try to get at least one Black employee in the pictures from official events. You know, because they felt the need to pretend to be "diverse."
Because he's somewhat light, my father was not "ideal" for these purposes---he doesn't show up as well as darker Black folks in pictures from a distance. So, they would usually try to aim for the handful of darker Black employees.
They only took pictures of my Dad if there weren't any darker people around. Did I mention that Dad would usually suddenly turn his head so all they could get was a picture with the back of his head showing (with close-cropped hair)? {chuckling}
[Oh, my father is a character. I come by it honestly! LOL!]
Peace, blessings and solidarity.
FP,
Thanks for the refence regarding Emmit Till. All I can say is WOW! What a revelation.
Peace and solidarity,
Tasha

RIP Michael Jackson.
I see people on here loling at Black women's pain, obsessing over how "handsome" Black male features are, blabbing about how colorism is tough on Black "folks", totally ignoring how it is ONLY Black FEMALES who 99.9% (If not 100%!) of the time are the ones who suffer from colorism, tearing Katherine Jackson apart, (Totally ignoring how if in 2009 Black women married to garbage abusive Black men have NO allies and NOBODY to turn to imagine how much LESS of that a Black women had in in the 1950s-1970s!), while remaining basically mum on Joe Jackson, and other confusing, anti-Black female/pro-Black male crap.
And this is supposed to be a Black female empowerment blog???????
"They don't really care about us"= How black men feel about black women.
I didn't have time to read through all the comments, but wanted to say one thing. You talked about BW needing to stand up and say no more to BM who disrespect them (I'm paraphrasing, and I agree with you wholeheartedly, but I honestly believe the real issue here is simple misogyny. All men of all races hate women, and it's time for all women to stand up and say enough. Pick any culture and you will see obvious hatred of women. Really, when you think about it, who is at the root of racism? Men always need some reason to feel superior to others, and racism is just another of their inventions to accomplish this. When feeling superior to women is not enough for their egos, they look for another group to subjugate. Women, on the other hand, because they hope the world will be kind to their own children, usually teach them to be kind to other mothers' children. I'm generalizing, I know, but just sayin'.
Sisters unite and I believe we will see an end to racism.
Thanks for sharing your info. I really appreciate your efforts and I am waiting for your further post thanks once again.
