Marvin Gaye...happy birthday!

the really great ones tend to leave too soon it seems.

i would rather remember your birthday so, happy birthday...

...thank you for all of the joy your music continues to give me. i feel blessed that i can always hear your beautiful voice. i love this song, the message, and the beautiful images of black people. together.

most of us still haven't figured out what's going on... the game is still the same... i think we will figure it out. i am hopeful.

may your rest be peaceful.

Hello my beautiful Black Sister. You are so right on Brother Marvin, he is missed very much. Every time I listen to his What's Going On Album I get so emotional. In my opinion that is the greatest album ever made. The song that effects me the most I think is Save the Children.

Bountiful Blessings to you as always my Sister.

Yes, I miss Marvin Gaye's talent. I also miss another [I feel under-appreciated] artist---Curtis Mayfield.

Humming "People Get Ready"....

Peace.

i can dig it:-)

Khadija, you bless me tremendously. before i started blogging i felt so alone. it has been a blessing to talk to those that get it. i learn everyday from the different perspectives. i am overjoyed when different minds meet in agreement.

you encourage me to keep moving forward...powerfully.

thank you!

blessings in abundance,

You have no idea how much our discussions have blessed my life. It's demoralizing & exhausting to always have to start on "square 1" when talking about life & death issues concerning Black folks. It's soooo refreshing to engage with people who "get it" on the first beat.

Especially when discussing persons such as "he who will not be named." *LOL* I felt as if I was yelling into the wind about what was wrong [in terms of Black folks' interests] with "that speech."

Not to mention that I've learned so much from you in a very short period of time!

Thank You! Peace, sis.

I would love to see a biopic on Marvin Gaye. His family dynamic is fascinating.
