help cancel one show at a time...

let's join my friend, Jasmyne Cannick, and help her cancel "shirley q. liquor" show dates.

it has been done before and we can do it again!

check out the specifics @ http://www.jasmynecannick.typepad.com/.

this behavior is not acceptable and let us make sure that everyone knows that it will not be quietly tolerated.

What do u think about Tyler Perry? Do u find his Madea character offensive? I don't but I do think Shirley Q Liquor is offensive. I visited the website that was set up to protest the show and heard some of the shows and was appalled. I will definitely post about this on my blog to spread the word.

hi Tasha,

welcome back. i am always happy to see you dropped in:-)

i don't advocate any man emulating or making fun of black women. period. shirley q. liquor, tyler perry, martin lawrence, or eddie murphy.

black men have bigger fish to fry and white men have no business. period. that is my take on it. it is NOT cool to poke fun at black women. it is NOT funny. it does not matter who it comes from.

i have a lot of gay friends and can tell you without a doubt that they refer to each other as "fa#@ot". i have heard it with my own ears. i have also accepted that i have no right to participate as a straight woman. it resonates as the same with me with men and women. monique, not so offensive. (although she does pick on slim sisters a little too hard---but then i am sensitive) hope that makes sense. shirley clown---terribly offensive. perry, murphy, martin= offensive. stop it already. if you need a full figured woman hire one.

blessings sis. i look forward to your next visit.
